Our People

The Dawson Creek and District Hospital Foundation is supported by a team of passionate individuals who believe every helping hand can help build a better future for the community. A volunteer Board of Directors plays a vital role in the Foundation’s success. Their leadership, strategic vision, financial oversight, and community engagement ensure the organization remains focused on its mission and creates lasting impact. In addition to the Board, the Foundation is supported by an Executive Director, Administrative Assistant, and various project partners.

Brette Madden

Board President
Brette is a product of the B.C. Peace, having been raised rurally West of Dawson Creek. After a few years away, Brette returned to the area with a Bachelor of Management in and lives in Arras with her partner and 2 children on a small cattle ranch. She lives for watching her kids develop confidence by conquering challenges in recreational sports and helping people find their dream homes as one of Dawson Creek's Realtors. Brette has been a dedicated member of the Dawson Creek and District Hospital Foundation's volunteer board of directors since 2013, and sincerely belives that a community is made great by its people and the time and effort they put into it.

Paul Davey

Board Vice President
Paul was born in Dawson Creek, and after some time away, he returned to the community in 1986. Here, he married his wife, Barb, and is raising his two children – Brice and Cierra. You may recognize Paul from SEI Software Emporium Inc., where he is the co-owner, or as a volunteer board member of several local organizations. Paul is also an active member of the Mayor’s Business Community Advisory Team. When he’s able to find a bit of time, you may see him outside camping, fishing, curling, painting, enjoying the thrill of a fast car, all with his family. The Foundation is lucky to have had Paul as a member since 2016, following his mother’s legacy as a board member.

Kate Hustak

Treasurer
Kate was born and raised in Dawson Creek, and is a CPA, CA and a partner at Core Partners Chartered Professional Accountants. Kate enjoys volunteering and giving back to the community. In her down time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and four kids camping, hiking, traveling and exploring the area.

Kaitlin Sevier

Secretary
Kaitlin Sevier is a family law and child protection mediator. She moved from Vancouver to Dawson Creek in 2015 and loves living in a smaller community. She lives with her husband, Scott, and their two young children. Game nights and taking walks in this gorgeous area are some of their favourite activities. Kaitlin has been with the Foundation since 2023 and loves the annual Smile Cookies fundraiser as it brings the community together.

Simon Ennis

Director
Graduating from UNBC in 2016 with a Bachelor of Commerce, Simon furthered his education at TRU Law, earning his law degree in 2021 and admitted to the BC bar in 2022. Simon’s professional journey is complemented by nearly a decade of service in the Canadian Armed Forces. Currently residing in Dawson Creek, BC, He is deeply committed to community service, actively contributing to the boards of the Lake View Credit Union and the Crisis Centre for Northern BC. Outside of his professional life, Simon enjoys cross-country skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, and spending time with his wife and their three dogs.

Sarah Falys

Director
Born and raised in Dawson Creek, Sarah loves her community and is a firm believer in the importance of volunteering and in working to improve healthcare in the South Peace region. Through both her career as the City of Dawson Creek’s Emergency and Climate Coordinator and her volunteer roles, including her role as a Director for the Dawson Creek and Hospital Foundation, Sarah has committed herself to public service in her community. When she isn’t working Sarah can be found exploring the Peace Region with her two dogs.
